In 2012 TRS installed a ground-breaking new refrigeration system on behalf of The Co-operative Group. The client required its refrigeration provision in a brand new retail development in the Bearsden area of Glasgow.
Through consultation, TRS designed and installed the free heat system within the refrigeration plant which utilised energy normally thrown away to the atmosphere.
The diverted heat was used to heat glycol, which was then pumped into the store’s air handling units to provide free heat.
The finished system was not only energy efficient but also helped to minimise environmental impact.
The retail store was the first Co-operative site in Scotland to have this innovative refrigeration system installed.
By designing and installing a unique system which fully met the client’s brief, TRS was able to provide a resourceful and professional solution which met all timescales and budgetary requirements.
